Treatment of Common Shoulder Disorders

The shoulder is composed of a complex arrangement of unique osseous anatomy, multiple joints, and dynamic and static soft-tissue structures. The structural architecture of the multiple diarthrodial joints allows for the greatest range of motion (ROM) of any joint. Unfortunately, increased reliance upon ligamentous and muscular structures comes at the expense of biomechanical stability. Therefore it is essential to have the comprehensive knowledge before the treatment of the shoulder disorders. The most common pathologic conditions of the shoulder involve the soft tissues. Rotator cuff disease, including calcific tendinitis and partial and full thickness tears, is a common source of weakness and pain. Traumatic and nontraumatic abnormalities of the lgenohuneral capsule and ligaments lead to shoulder instability and dysfunction. It is important to review the diagnosis, decision making, treatment and outcomes of rotator cuff diseases, shoulder instability and associated symptoms. The mainstay of present presentation focused on the dynamic anatomy and the common shoulder disorders , including the update of treatment.
