What is faulty Parallelism in an Essay and How to fix it

Students while writing an essay often experience problems like faulty parallelism. First, we will understand the chemistry of parallelism. Our sentence in essays needs balanced grammar and I will help you to understand it with an example, "While giving in a presentation, Ali and with passion about his plan." Now if we look at the example then we see that “sincere” is an adverb and “with passion” is a phrase that is responsible for causing faulty parallelism in the sentence. These words need to be in the same grammatical structure to make the sentence balanced and convenient to read. This can be corrected like this, "While giving a presentation, Ali spoke sincerely and passionately about his plan." Now the sentence has two adverbs and a parallel structure is maintained throughout the sentence.

To correct the faulty parallelism, we have a variety of options that can be used as the above sentence can also be written as "While giving a presentation, Ali spoke with sincerity and passion about his plan" now we have two nouns.

Balanced grammatical sentences are crafted with matching verbs, adverbs, nouns or clauses, and phrases. This helps the writer to deliver a smooth sentence and the audience may enjoy it while reading which will also impose a positive impression of the writer on the readers. With faulty parallelism are basically correct but it can make the structure of a sentence confusing for the readers and clunky as well.

When we write the sentences without having faulty parallelism and with a proper parallel structure, they sound more pleasing as they are grammatically balanced. We should learn the methods to overcome these errors by asking for help from an  essay writer These writers can help you to write a very good and pleasing essay and if you are writing it as an academic assignment then you can also achieve desired grades.

Some faulty parallelisms are easier to notice For instance, “Students having access to the internet, use it to research topics, business people use it to hold virtual meetings, and it is used by professors to send homework assignments.” In this example, two clauses are using the active voice whereas the last clause is using passive which is causing faulty parallelism. An  essay writing service  helped me to understand these sorts of concepts regarding how to write perfect essays.

"Students have access to the internet, use it to research topics, business people use it to hold virtual meetings, and professors use it to send homework assignments."

Now we have maintained the structure.

When we are writing to compare different entities then the sentences should have a parallel structure. If we don't use properly balanced structures for comparison, then it can lead the readers to confusion about what is being compared. These comparison sentences mostly use the words like “than, as, similarly, despite and etc.” Se, etc each side of comparison should be parallel in structure. For instance, “Swimming in the oceans is much tougher than a pool.” Now we are comparing oceans, and a pool and the writer is trying to compare an action with a noun. The sentence will be balanced as “Swimming in the oceans is much tougher than swimming in the pool.” Now the sentence is balanced.

Faulty parallelism can be mitigated by adding or deleting the words in an unbalanced structure to make them grammatically parallel. For example, "I would prefer to work at a second job to pay for a car than a loan". Now in this sentence, we are comparing a loan with the second job, and it can be corrected as “I would prefer to work at a second job to pay for the car than taking a loan”.

Removing faulty parallelism needs a lot of practice and we can guess it by just looking at the sentence. A sentence with faulty parallelism looks correct and delivers information but it is not correct considering the grammatical norms. I took help from me an expert writer to help to  write my essay for research purposes. Two equal parts of the sentence are joined by the correlated conjunctions, and we also use them to make a parallel sentence, the most common conjunctions used are "either ...or, not only...but also, rather...than both… etc." Students should be careful while using Correlative conjunctions. For instance, "We can neither wait to take action to make our protest successful nor can we raise voice for evasive action against them". Now the structure of the first part of the sentence is not making sense with the second part due to which we shall make it better by this “We can neither wait to take action to make our protest successful nor take evasive action against them”. A high level of practice is required to make a sentence grammatically correct and balanced.

Faulty parallelism may also occur while making a list in an essay. It is mostly a series of sentences and for correction, all the list items should be alike. We shall take the following example to understand the faulty parallelism in the lists.

1) We define our goals.

2) Who is our target audience?

3) What shall we deliver?

4) Discuss Results.

5) Our profits.

Now in this list, some are the complete sentences like items no 1, 2, and 3 whereas 4 or 5 are not complete declarative sentences. The correct version is as follows

1) Define Goal

2) Target Audience

3) Product

4) Discuss Results

5) Profits
