活動內容 Session Content
過往研究顯示因體重、年齡、種族、性別或社會地位等因素於醫療場域中遭受負面刻版印象的病患,指出該現象對健康確有不良影響,刻版印象威脅理論及相關研究讓我們了解並試圖降低多元文化溝通中可能對健康造成的負面影響。本工作坊將探討現今醫療臨床場域中面臨的文化刻板印象,並找出如何於醫病溝通教學中避免深化刻板印象的方法。

Research indicates that people who encountered the threat of being judged by negative stereotypes related to weight, age, race, gender or social class in health care settings reported the experience of adverse health effects. Stereotype threat theory and research provide a useful lens for understanding and reducing the negative health consequences of interracial interactions. In this interactive workshop we will explore the current challenges of cultural stereotype in your own clinical context and find ways to avoid reinforcing stereotype in cross cultural communication education.

 

講者介紹 Speakers
Dr. Kwong Chan (曾廣志醫師) – Kwong graduated with an MD degree from KMU and obtained his PhD from Griffith University School of Psychology. He is now a Senior Lecturer of Medical Education teaching communication skills at the School of Medicine, Griffith University, Australia. He was voted one of the most valued staff member in pre-clinical year at the university. He is also a visiting associate professor at KMU.

Ms. Linda Humphreys -Since 2009 Linda has implemented reflective journaling in Griffith University and in the School of Medicine in 2012. She has provided wider consult and support to other faculties and schools regarding reflective journaling as innovative teaching and curriculum design elements that support students to develop their professional identity and clinical proficiency. She has presented tools for reflective writing to health professional bodies, such as Queensland Health Genetics, Mater Hospital Radiation Oncology Department and the Centre for Palliative Care Research and Education, and at conferences both nationally and internationally.
