活動內容SESSION CONTENT

本活動將從語言學角度探討醫生與病患間複雜的互動關係。教師、醫療人員及病患對於此互動關係皆有不同的解讀，醫病溝通可能是透過訪談汲取資訊，或透過對話產生或抑制同理心的過程，是疾病故事的訴說，又或以詩文的形式點出人類處境，激發我們以新的眼光重新審視熟悉的事物。講座中將探討我們對人際互動本質的觀察如何影響醫病溝通教學，說明醫病對話應從多元面向解讀分析。教學工作坊將同與會教師實際演練課堂操作，了解如何引領學生從語言學角度解析不同的醫病對話模式。

This talk and workshop focus on the complex nature of doctor-patient interactions from the linguistic perspective. As teachers, health-care providers and patients, we can think about these interactions in different ways: as interviews that elicit specific information, as conversations in which empathy can be established or withheld, as stories of illness, decline and resilience – and as poems that illuminate certain truths of the human condition and prompt us to see familiar circumstances with fresh eyes. The talk considers how our perception of the nature of the interaction affects the way in which we teach such interactions, and argues for a multi-layered understanding of doctor-patient dialogues. The workshop will give participants opportunities to engage in tasks that are designed to teach doctor-patient communication from different linguistic perspectives: as an interview, conversation, story and poem.

講者介紹SPEAKER

Professor John Corbett-John Corbett is a Visiting Professor and CAPES international Fellow at the University of Sao Paulo, where he teaches in the Modern Languages department and works with students in the Faculty of Medicine and the Agricultural School. He is the co-author, with Professor Peih-ying Lu, of English in Medical Education (Multilingual Matters, 2012).
