I. Introduction

Taiwan is only 36,000 square kilometers in size, but nearly 60% of the island is covered by forests with rich and varied landscapes and natural resources. Most of the land area surrounding by theforest are rural communities. The issues of environmental conservation, local economy, and village revitalization are very important for the sustainable development of rural communities. The indigenous people use their ecological knowledge to create a unique local economy system, which is an opportunity to integratethe tradition and innovation. Also, the ”Under-forest economy”(or Agroforestry system) is currently an important strategy to help local people and to conserve the forest. 

This course will invite 18 foreign students to visit Wutai for eco-tourism and learn the under-forest circular economy. Through this activity, it will not only increase students’ understanding of the forest economy, but also increase the equal exchanges of international students and local people.In addition, we also invite foreign students to write their traveling experiencein their mother language to help Wutai to promote the ecotourism tour.

4. Eligible applicants

International students interested in learning Indigenous culture, Agroforestry system orCircular Economy, and willing to provide a written 400 words feedback.


5. Fee

Free! Participants must provide a written feedback about 400 words in their mother language and promote the learning experience online; also willing to be filmed and share your thoughts during the activity.

7. Introduction of Labuwan

Labuwan (Dawu Village) is located at Wutai Township, Pingtung County. Except for a small part of the land reserved for Aboriginal people, most of the land is national forest protected area. Thesurrounding environment is a multiple ecosystem constructed by forests,agricultural land, and streams. Mostly, the villagers planted traditional cropssuch as millet, red quinoa, taro, and tree beans. After the serious typhoon in 2009, the Forestry Department of National Pingtung University of Science andTechnology (NPUST) began to assist Labuwan in the development of ecotourism andthe under-forest industry. The under-forest industry includes plating theChinese herbal medicine, growing mushrooms, and breeding chickens under the trees.The Forest-Friendly Branded Products not only serve as a source of nutrition for localelders, but also become very popular and well-known goods on online social networksand media.

★ The quota is limited (18 ONLY),so there is no guarantee that everyone will be accepted. If you are accepted, you will get an admission email on 7 May, Monday.


10. Notes

1.  Please bring your own water bottle, rain boots, umbrella, and sun care products.

2. In field experience, you have to wear rain boots to collect eggs, make compost and pull weeds. We strongly suggest you to bring your own rain boots to join the event.

「在台國際學生的魯凱部落課」招生簡章

一、前言

臺灣擁有約百分之六十的森林面積及豐富的自然生態,森林周邊地區常是偏鄉所在,當地的環境保育、產業經濟、山村振興等議題,關係著許多社區部落的永續發展。善用原民生態知識,在森林裡探尋獨特的在地經濟,是山村融合傳統與創新的契機,而林下經濟正是目前被列為幫助偏鄉又可以保護森林的重要策略。本魯凱部落課預計邀請18位外籍學生到霧台進行生態旅遊與林下經濟之部落學習參訪,透過魯凱族與國際學生的活動結合,不僅可以增加對等的文化交流(equal exchange),還可以增進學生對於林下經濟的了解,另外活動也邀請外籍生用母語撰寫霧台部落旅遊之介紹和心得,並用Facebook等平台推廣此次遊訪經驗,共同為促進部落的生態旅遊、提升外籍生對在地認同感,進而貢獻所學而努力。


二、目的

國際學生的魯凱部落課程重點如下:

(一)  魯凱族的傳說與文化

(二)  林下經濟的操作模式

(三)  循環經濟的體驗活動


三、主協辦單位

(一)主辦單位:教育部大學社會責任實踐計畫

(二)承辦單位:國立屏東科技大學森林系

(三)協辦單位:社團法人屏東縣霧台鄉大武部落就地重建協會、霧臺鄉公所


四、研習對象資格

預計招募18人,具下列資格之一者,可報名參加甄選。

(一)年滿18歲,不具有台灣地區人民身分證明。

(二)對生態旅遊、林下經濟、產業六級化操作有相關經驗者。

(三)願意配合錄影與以母語寫心得推廣大武部落生態旅遊者。


五、研習費用

(一)本系列課程由教育部補助,受訓學員無需自行負擔。學員僅需自行負擔從出發地點到屏科大集合地點之來回交通食宿費用,課程期間,食、宿、交通由主辦單位支付。

(二)錄取者請於時間內確實報到,若無法參與,請及早通知,以利工作人員後續行政安排,請謹慎考慮報名。

(三)課程期間,若需請假,請提前告知主辦單位之工作人員。


六、研習方式

(一)訓練期間:107年5月11日(週五) 0830-1730

(二)訓練地點:屏東縣霧台鄉大武部落


七、參訪地點簡介

大武部落位屏東縣霧台鄉,由小山和東川二個部落所組成。小山部落為行政中心,設有日治時期第一所番童教育所。大武部落的語言屬於自成一格的大武魯凱語群,和其他霧台鄉魯凱族的語系相當不同。戶籍人口數有780人,莫拉克災後返鄉居住者有70~80人,因為部落堅持回鄉發展,大武村是霧台鄉惟一全村就地重建的村落,成為西魯凱族重要的文化傳承種子。

大武村除小部分土地為原住民保留地外,大部分是國家森林。周邊環境是由次生林、農耕地及溪流所建構的多元生態系統。以一級產業為重,村民多種植小米、紅藜、芋頭、樹豆等傳統作物。八八風災後,屏科大森林系開始協助大武村發展生態旅遊和林下產業,包括林下中草藥培植、林下蕈菇栽培、林下養雞等,結合族人農耕的古老智慧,發展出獨特一格的林下產銷體系。標榜友善森林的生鮮產品,不僅成為當地高齡長輩的營養來源,也藉由網絡銷售,創造超高的網絡購買人氣。


九、報名方式與錄取

一律採網路報名,請於5月4日(週五)前於網站報名系統( https://goo.gl/UDpLdh)填寫報名,主辦單位將於5月7日(週一)完成甄並以電子郵件寄發行前通知。若報名人數過多,則提早結束報名。主辦單位保有決定錄取學員名單之權利。線上報名完成後,需親自至森林系社區林業中心繳交護照影本,並簽署個人資料授權同意書。


十、課程相關重要提醒

1.為方便各學員與講師間之交流互動,請於報名時詳細填寫所屬單位、身分、職務等資訊,主辦單位將準備學員名牌,以利現場意見和資訊交流。


2.報名時需完成下列資料填寫(報名時一併上傳報名系統):

(1)學員所屬國家之生態旅遊的作法與案例介紹(200字以上)

(2)學員所屬國家之林下經濟或混農林業的作法與案例介紹 (200字以上)


3.學員須同時完成下列各項考核,始具結訓資格。

(1)活動過程中,須準時出席,不得請假。

(2)活動過程中,須配合錄製影片。

(3)繳交個人學習心得報告,以母語撰寫(200-500字)。

(4)為評估成效,學員須在活動結束前配合主辦單位填寫評估問卷。

 

十一、其他

1.活動時間,學員之行動電話請關靜音。

2.貴重物品請自行妥為保管,遺失恕不負責。

3.如有緊急事故、生病或其他情事,請隨時洽詢工作人員協助處理。

4.活動期間應請遵守主辦單位相關規定事項。
